7. How have your thoughts about the future (immediate or distant) changed?

Ever since quarantine, I think my thoughts about the immediate future have changed slightly. Since I don’t have to go to school anymore and I have a lot more time at home, I’ve been encouraged to spend more time on looking into what colleges I want to go to. As a result, this has also made me think about my distant future as well. I just hope that quarantine can end soon and everything can go back to the way it used to be.

4. If you had to assign your current mood a color, what would it be any why?
I think if i would assign my current mood a color, it would be yellow. I feel like yellow is a bright color,  and I’m not feeling too depressed or sad so that works out. If I was more sad and gloomy, I would’ve picked a darker color. However, yellow is different for me compared to a color like blue or green. Although it’s bright, it’s also a strange color to me. I can associate yellow with anxiety, and I’m worried about coronavirus since it’s very dangerous. As well, the process of applying to colleges has been getting stressful as well. Overall, it would be better if coronavirus wasn’t going on right now.

1. How have your thoughts toward school changed?

Ever since quarantine due to coronavirus, I don’t really think my thoughts towards school have changed. Although, I do think that school during a global pandemic is not something that is necessary. I feel like a lot of kids around the country already have a lot of stress during this time because of coronavirus, and school only adds more stress to that pile. It’s mentally straining and it puts a lot of pressure on students. But I do understand that it is what it is and that schools must continue with online school in order to make sure students aren’t falling behind/have to make up work in the summer.

19. What impact is technology having on your daily life? Is this different than usual?

Technology is definitely impacting my daily life a lot more. Firstly, school has moved onto remote learning, which basically requires technology for anything school related. Secondly, I’ve had a lot more time in the day to be on technology and use it as there’s not as much schoolwork. Third, due to not wanting to spread the virus or come in contact with it, I’ve been staying at home, so I’m able to spend more time on technology at home to keep myself busy. This is definitely different than usual because I’ve never been able to be on technology for so much of my day.

18. Name one thing you make sure to do that makes you happy, hopeful, more relaxed.

Going outside is definitely something that helps me be more happy and relaxed. Getting a fresh breath of air is always a pleasant experience, especially since the weather has been getting better recently and we are in Spring. With the coronavirus situation going on, the atmosphere has changed and everyone seems to be on edge, and it’s nice to go outside and be able to appreciate nature.

12. What’s the best advice you’ve heard, offered?

The best advice I’ve heard is definitely to stay inside and to practice social distancing. A lot of people I know are young and would most likely recover if they got COVID-19. However, although it may not be the biggest threat to me, the bigger threat is spreading it to others. Who knows what the people around you struggle with? Some may have issues with breathing, making the virus more lethal. For me, my parents are older and if I contracted coronavirus, the risk of giving it to my parents is way too high and it’d be very dangerous as they are more vulnerable to its symptoms.

10. How have your musical habits changed? Are you playing more? Listening more?

I think that I've definitely been listening to more music. With a lot more time in the day where I don't exactly have to have my ears clear of headphones, I'm able to spend a lot of my time listening and enjoying music. Not only am I enjoying music and also discovering new music, but I've also been able to listen more intently to some music as I have so much time. Listening to music can be something that I just have in the background while I do something else, but it can also be a hobby to me where I can sit down and do nothing but listen to music.
